Joel and Dena Gambord Nursing Scholarship
The goal of this scholarship is to attract and support high caliber nursing students who choose to complete their advanced nursing studies in the RN to BSN program at CSU Monterey Bay. In so doing, this merit-based program will provide CSU Monterey Bay and the College of Health Sciences and Human Services with the opportunity to ensure the development of high-quality nursing expertise in the region. The Scholarship fund provides financial support to eligible students for tuition assistance in the nursing program.
Scholarship finalists are selected on the basis of academic performance, financial need, demonstrated leadership and participation in community service in the healthcare field, work experience, passing an open book civics test, and a statement of career and educational goals and objectives.
Priority consideration will be given to working RN’s who want to receive their BSN.
A one-time, non-renewable, $10,000 Scholarship will be awarded.

The goal of this scholarship program is to attract and support high caliber nursing students who choose to complete their advanced nursing studies RN to BSN at CSU Monterey Bay. As part of the application process students are required to take a US Civics exam which gauges applicants understanding of United States history, government, and legal system. The exam is meant to be a tool to help students become more knowledgeable citizens and participants in our Democracy. Once you have submitted your application please reach out to Michael Castro at michaelc@cfmco.org and let him know you have applied to the Joel and Dena Gambord Nursing Scholarship. He will then send you a link to the US Civics exam. It is 50 open-book internet searchable questions. This exam must be submitted by Sunday, August 3rd 11:59 PM.
