Daphne and Stuart Wells Public Service Scholarship
The scholarship recipient(s) will be chosen based on the applicant’s:
• Documented financial need
• Entering their junior year of college in good standing as a full-time student (completion of a 2-year degree or with the equivalent of 2 years of qualifying college credits)
• Majoring in one of the following public service fields:
- Education
- Environmental Studies
- Health Professions and Related Programs
- Marine Biology/Oceanography
- Natural Resources, Forestry, and Conservation
- Nursing
- Parks, Recreation, Leisure and Fitness Studies
- Public Administration and Social Service Professions
- World Affairs and International Issues
Preference will be given to students with broad-based liberal arts and science courses during the freshman and sophomore years.
Applicants must be a resident of Monterey County (including undocumented residents) with preference given to students transferring to/attending CSU Monterey Bay or other 4-year college/university in California from Hartnell College or Monterey Peninsula College.
• The scholarship may be renewed for one year as long as the student continues to meet the eligibility criteria
To claim the award funds, the winning student(s) must:
• Enroll in an accredited 4-year college/university in California as a full-time student by the Fall semester after receiving the award
• Send the Claim Form provided by the Foundation along with official proof of his or her enrollment to the Foundation by the due date (usually October 31st)
