The Lifelong Learning Steve Attix Memorial Scholarship Fund

The team at Lewis Builders is honored to celebrate the life and legacy of our dear friend and colleague, Steve Attix. Steve’s time with Lewis Builders left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him. Steve’s background was as diverse as it was impressive. Steve was a master craftsman for 40+ years, specializing in wood and metal using time-honored techniques. Having spent 23 years in Raleigh, NC, before moving back to Aptos to be closer to family, Steve’s career was adorned with achievements and experiences that spoke volumes of his expertise, passion for learning, and hands-on approach to construction.

To support his passion and his mission, Lewis Builders has established this scholarship program aimed at building our future generations of designers and builders, and changing lives, one person at a time. We want students to see that the construction industry welcomes a diverse set of skills and wide range of opportunities from the creativity of design and architecture, to technical engineering and estimating, to the physical hands-on work of every trade specialty.
